R&D Tax Credit Consultant

Role Overview:
 
The successful candidate will be involved with the financial and tax technical aspects of our client's R&D tax credit claims.
 
They will work closely with our clients, our in house team of scientific technical and financial experts and Revenue to ensure successful completion of optimised R&D tax credit claims.
 
The candidate will report to the R&D Consultant Manager.
 
This is a client facing role working with clients in a wide range of industry sectors (e.g. food & beverages, engineering, financial services, pharma, medical devices, software development etc.)

To achieve this, we are always looking for new ways to add value to our clients through the utilisation of the extensive expertise and skills of our people. Where required, the successful candidate will be involved in the introduction by Leyton of other tax products to the market.
 
Duties:
 
He/She will be responsible for:
 
  • Ensuring that each claim meets the requirements of legislation and Revenue guidlines from a financial & technical point of view.
  • Compilation of R&D tax credit claims- with a focus on financial/ tax aspects
  • Project managment for claims i.e. continuously liaising with clients, colleagues and Revenue to ensure claims are optimised within strict deadlines.
  • Revenue audit management for clients' claims

Position requirements:

Experience with R&D Tax Credit will be an advantage.

An ideal candidate will have the following;

  • Tax background (ITI qualified or awaiting results of final ITI exams) with 2-3 years tax experience and tax technical ability
  • Revenue audit experience
  • Excellent organisational skills, communication skills and IT skills are essential
  • Awareness of & interest in scientific/ technological developments
  • Team player and ability to work on own initiative
